District Team & Trustee Board
There are many volunteer roles within the Scouts which support the smooth running of a Scout Group and District. Some of these roles are uniformed and some are support functions, all equally important to support the young people who come to our groups every week. These roles form our District Team and District Trustee Board.

District Lead Volunteer

The role of the District Lead Volunteer (DLV) is to manage and support the Scout District to ensure it runs effectively and that Scouting within the District develops in accordance with the rules and policies of The Scout Association so that that the District provides good quality Scouting for young people and proactively supports and manages adults in the District.
District Youth Lead

As a member of the District Leadership Team the District Youth Lead works in partnership with the District Lead Volunteer and Chair of the District Trustee Board. The role is to ensure that young people from 6-25 years are involved and engaged in every decision that shapes their Scouting experience locally and to empower young people to share their ideas and have a meaningful voice in planning, implementing and reviewing their programme and opportunities.
District Chair

The Chair will lead the Trustee Board, ensuring that it fulfils its responsibilities within the District. The Chair will work closely with the District Commissioner to achieve the purpose of The Scout Association through the development of local Scouting, in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.

Scouts has a positive image and is promoted
We’re engaging with local communities

Administration gets done
Fundraising is planned and run

District 14-24 Team
Team Leader – Explorers – Network
14-24 Teams make sure:
Sections and activities are inclusive for all young people and adults
Explorers and Network sections have the resources they need
The needs of young people are met through the programme
Young Leaders are mentored and developed

District Programme Team
Programme Teams make sure:
Sections can work together
Volunteers have networking and development opportunities
There’s guidance on running programmes
Skilled people are on hand to help run adventurous activities
Activities and permits are reviewed and approved

District Volunteer Development Team
Volunteering Development Teams make sure:
Volunteers get a great welcome and induction
Volunteers’ achievements are celebrated
Volunteers have the skills they need
Volunteers keep motivated as they complete their learning
